IL Pride Connect
Launched August 2025
Illinois Pride Connect is a resource hub equipping LGBTQIA+ individuals with accessible legal information, resources, and referrals across Illinois. This new statewide initiative is led by Legal Council for Health Justice with support from the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS).
Janerick Holmes, Founder of Janerick Media, sat on weekly steering committee calls and within a rapid three-month timeline, he facilitated the development of the Illinois Pride Connect brand identity, and led the creative process to create a visual identity reflective of the initiative’s purpose and the LGBTQIA+ sense of community.
The statewide steering committee was comprised of LGBTQIA+ leaders and organizations: AIDS Foundation of Chicago/Pride Action Tank, ALMA, Equality Illinois, Illinois Legal Aid Online, Lambda Legal, Life Is Work, and Legal Council for Health Justice.
The goal was to build a responsive platform that provides clear legal FAQs, know-your-rights content, vetted referrals, and tools for advocacy, especially for trans youth, rural residents, immigrants, and BIPOC communities.
